Erik has taught media and storytelling in some form since 2005. He is a Professor of Instruction in Radio-TV-Film at Northwestern University where he was the recipient of a McCormick Distinguished Lectureship in 2016 and a Galbut Outstanding Faculty Award in both 2020 and 2012. He previously taught Comedy Writing in Chicago at The Second City Training Center.
